"Caviar" (Икра) is the 18+ animated music video directed by Khariton Klimov and made by the Revival studio (студия "Воскресение") for a Russian song of the same name by Ilona Stolie's extremely obscure music project, St.Olie. The song was co-written by Ilona Stolie and Andrey Zuev (the one who's known for writing music for movies Waiting for a Miracle (2007) and The New Year's Rate Plan (2008)) and produced by Zuev. It gained a moderate success not because of the song itself, but because of the video, ignoring the context behind it (the original description of the video is: "Four minutes of life with dubious products." ("Четыре минуты из жизни сомнительных продуктов.") The alternate description of the video: "A fine joke about glamorous lifestyle and overblown values." ("Изящная шутка на тему гламурного образа жизни и раздутых ценностей.")) and instead focus on breast inflation, huge breasts and butts, and body deflation. The video is available on YouTube (in two versions), Vimeo, and Facebook. It has its own entry on Animator.ru, Kinoglaz.fr, and the Big Cartoon Festival's official website. It was also shown at the 16th Open Russian Animated Film Festival in Suzdal, the 2011 Big Cartoon Festival in Moscow, the "РЕЗИДЕНТ.РУ" section of the 7th Open Cinema Festival in Saint-Petersburg (2011) as well as the author animation program "Plastic People" (Пластиковые Люди), and the 2012 Big Cartoon Festival in Voronezh. One thing to note is that in the music video, poverty people (like the scrawny brunette) have ragged linework, semi-abstract, angular appearance (looking like they have been escaped from ancient Egypt paintings), and muted colors, in contrast to rich/famed people, who have smoother linework, more refined shapes, and vibrant colors.

Plot

In the abandoned apartment, the main character, the scrawny brunette and her one-night stand, enter and proceed to sleep. The next morning, she wakes up, checking the mini-fridge for food. Realizing that it's empty, she noticed that her one-night stand, is still sleeping. So, she slowly pulls away the bedsheet over him, but he gets mysteriously replaced by a magical bicycle pump. Not knowing who replaced him, she uses the pump to magically upgrade her empty mini-fridge into a very tall high-quality LG-esque fridge fully stocked with caviar and Coke bottles, by pumping. Amazed by the contents, she tries to eat some caviar, but failed. After spilling some near her tiny breasts, she pumps herself until her breasts become downright huge and then she becomes a model with long, blonde hair (pictured left/above), surrounded by luxuries she upgraded from squalor.

As she, for the first time, encounters the neighbor, who happens to be the rival model, the flat-chested redhead with thick thighs (pictured right), the blonde greets her with a bright, glistening slime, and the rival smirks in response followed by hip-bumping vases as she walks. And, as the two meet together, they kiss each-other's cheeks, which means that they're about to cooperate. First, they upgrade the main character's old CRT TV to a flatscreen HDTV, but she goes way too far, causing it to topple towards them, ending up smashed. Second, they upgrade an old man's shoe to a pair of Chanel fingerless gloves, to a pink Hermès bag, to a pair of Christian Louboutins, to a chameleon, and to a silver-blue and pale cream Yorkshire Terrier. They both go inside her car (the white Lada Riva 2107) as the redhead takes the blonde's pet Yorkie with her, all for a global ride. During the ride, she upgrades her car all the way to the modified red Hummer H3. Everything was all fine and dandy until they mindlessly crash into the Peter the Great Statue, destroying it. This results in getting caught by a cop and his armed men, but she averts it by plugging the bike pump into the plug on his pocket and inflating his behavior into being a good cop, which he hands out flowers.

Looks like their job was done for, until… Out of envy or as a part of the plan, the rival model unplugs the air valve planted onto the main character's back, deflating her back into a scrawny brunette and steals the pump, turning everything the main character inflated/upgraded into something fancy back to normal. The rival model then inflated her own breasts to the point of ginormity. Her breasts was then popped by some mysterious force (maybe shot by a sniper), releasing pinkish Pepto Bismol-like liquid and causing the music to stop, leaving Ilona Stolie crying out the last line: "...А я такая несчастная." ("...and I'm so miserable"). This makes her shocked, and the credits roll, leaving the story unresolved.

Production

The production of the music video started around the beginning of 2010. On Febraury 22 of that year, Artur Tolstobrov posted an artwork on LiveJournal, which is an early version of the main character (post-upgrade) with her pet Yorkie, with the caption "Икра как дыни, дыни как арбузы.".
